Mr Smith, the agency saved by its management team from closure, has been
appointed by one of the South's largest garden centre firms Haskins to
launch a direct response advertising campaign featuring 'Crystal Maze'
presenter Richard O'Brien.
Haskins Garden Centres has tasked Mr Smith with launching a radio
advertising and door-drop campaign targeting homes within a 20-minute drive
of its branches.
The garden centre has locations across West Sussex, Hampshire, including one
in Southampton, and Dorset.
The door-drop will feature a calendar style guide to the summer as well as
special offers and a 500 prize draw.
The radio creative features a poem, inspired by Sir John Betjeman's 'A
Subaltern's Lovesong', recited by 'Rocky Horror Picture Show' creator and
former 'Crystal Maze' presenter Richard O'Brien.
Mr Smith managing director Stuart Leach said: "The distinctiveness of radio
and the targeting of the door-drop, along with creative that demands a
repeated reading due to its calendar like nature should make for a great
summer at Haskins."
Haskins marketing director Sarah Greenaway said: "We want to help people
make the most of their gardens and enjoy garden living with family and
friends."
Last month Mr Smith lost the Energy Savings Trust's direct marketing account
to Mustoes and Tullo Marshall Warren.
