Guide to the best beers in Britain, only 10USD!
No, this isn't a spam ad from me, I just thought I'd pass on what
looks like a pretty bad UK internet-published beer guide (it was from
a googlegroups ad)

go have a look here
http://www.barrywholt.com/bestbeers/index.html

for gems like this
"British beers have to be dispensed at about 55*F, any colder and the
yeast will produce a "Chill Haze" which makes the beer look cloudy and
unpalatable."
&
"the cellerman gets his new supply of beer, he silages it on its side"

or
"This booklet was written to save you money, by keeping you away from
drinking the expensive and insipid rubbish and advise you on good
quality imported and local beers . . . So if you would like to keep to
an American type of beer on arrival; Go to the Price List on the wall
of the pub, take out this booklet and turn to the first section to
choose a premium "Lager" beer off the Price List."

& for a bit of background reading just go here,
http://www.barrywholt.com/

where they sell pop-up software, email-moneymaking ideas, etc.

For anyone new here, or thinking of coming to the UK & looking for
decent beer, just buy the current CAMRA Good Beer Guide &/or have a
good look on (free) websites & friendly newsgroups! & If you want a
good read about UK beers, there's a few well-written books out there.
cheers

Thanks for that, Mike - I needed a good laugh. I particularly like:

That would explain the bits of straw you find floating in Ye
Traditionale Foamyng Pinte of Ye Olde Englyshe Ayle.
