Good Morning
Good morning Edith,

How are you?

Fine thank you.

Have they begun on your verandahs yet?

No but I have only been waiting since 7 o'clock this morning and it IS only
12 noon.

Sigh.

Good evening, Edith. It's now after 7pm - any luck with that elusive
verandah? I trust they have finished it. Then what will you have to
complain about?

They didn't come. I've decided to go walk about in the Australian bush,
never to return.

this is so ironic.

That same "farmer" leaves his sheep to starve on the fell behind us in
winter and does not visit them regularly. They are often diseased as well.
They die just behind our wall, (the only bit of shelter around here in a
gale), and this guy is unreachable to get them shifted.

He is "unemployed" apart from his little sheep business, but never seems to
be able to come to them other than at the weekend.....He does not own any
land, just rents fields here and there and then tips them up on the fell
when the first blade of grass appears.

He has been reported to the trading standards authority a few times, and is
at loggerheads with the Commons Association.

I wonder if his sheep were "insured"?

No one round here has much sympathy for him.

I haven't words for what I'm feeling at this moment. Is that "person" still
allowed to have anything to do with any living creature on this earth.I'm
appalled. I have a photo of the blind cow that kept close to the other one
so it knew where it was. It's eyes were infected. And the sight of him
kicking and cussing his sheep and lambs, is printed in my memory
forever.Several of them were limping. What a horrible person.

Suddenly my verandah and all my little problems seem so insignificant.
