boinky things
OK - so far we've got the 2 transatlantic travellers, plus probably JH,
Barry, Kezzi & Kai Hsia, and me. Anyone else for a boink?

I'm just back from an interesting weekend going to see 'Starlight Express'
and watching a tower block being demolished. What fun! I even managed to fit
in a trip to Ikea and a few other favourite shops - oh yes, and also the art
gallery. Lovely. I do love living in W Cumbria, but there are certain things
I miss.

Our two gorgeous daughters will be accompanying us for a change (but
seeing as we three (6 including my boy, grandson and dog) have birthdays
within a month and Kai Hsia and I met in an April long ago we decided to
have a birthday bash. Tis the first time we've all been together for a
night out for too long. Sonny would be there too but he's over in the
NE. Dog might come but 'Twa' is enough methinks...). Looking forward to
hopefully meeting some new faces.

Must find something half decent to wear.

Everyone hung-over, obviously.

Nice to meet you all and put faces to names.

I have to ask D-S the same question I am asked regularly:
How did YOU get two good-looking daughters like that?

Cheers for now.

You mean "great-looking!!" ;)

Well, apart from the obvious answer.....

The fact that you didn't note my high level of attractiveness will not be
held against you. Kai Hsia, their glamour-puss step-mum, keeps them on their
toes (but their ma is also a 'bit of a babe'...). I shall now delete this
message.

By the time we got back to the car Edith was ready for her scraps of
Cumberland sausage and bottle of water. I'm sure it would have been alright
to let her out. Maybe next time if she's good....

Great to meet some new faces - and especially Johnny and Jp who came all
this way just for my birthday!!

If you two can get your acts together next year, you could both be here at
the same time, and make a boink to provoke great envy in jp and johnny, thus
turning the tables.

Well, if it's any help, we missed you. The boinks you're at are always
*much* more lively and unpredictable. You'd have had the folkies in the
corner playing some old blues standard for you to sing along with, and I
just know you and JP would have been dancing together on the tables before
the night was out!

It was nice to see johnny & jp again tonight, when they joined us (Belfagan
people) at the Bitter End for a jar or two tonight, after our dance
practice.

They both look thoroughly happy & relaxed - they may need to be forcibly
pushed on to their planes back home when the time comes.

It sounds nice but I think Jp and Johnny should be there too, again, next

Glad to see that you got home OK, Ally.

It took some doing but I did manage to get onto my plane.

I certainly had an absolutely marvellous time, my only disappointment
being that in the 6 days I had, I never went into Marks and Spencer's or
had Fish and Chips, but I did spend time with old friends and new,
family and also, the most glorious scenery imaginable in almost
unbelievable weather! I don't think it was a dream....

Woz I there? It *was* a dream....

You're not missing much in Marks 'n' Sparks, and Fish and Chips are
over-rated anyway unless you're over Whitby way. F&C to die for....

I have photographic evidence that you were there, which I will hand over
shortly.

You're right about Whitby Fish and Chips being brilliant. I can also
vouch for the quality in the Ashvale Fish Restaurant in Aberdeen - and
the Bervie Chipper, Inverbervie.

Gosh, I'm hungry, and it's only breakfast time. I'll go and get Arthur

We had good weather during easter too, Jp. and I went into M&S and bought 4
pairs of pant that I could just pull on without having to cut, sew, sni.
tuck or anything. First time in 40 years. It was unbelievable.

Well, if you've got a Lear jet, why not bring it over here and have your
chips at the Park Slope Chip Shop in Brooklyn, or "A Salt and Battery"
in Manhattan. With the cost of the dollar, you'd probably be quids in!
