o/t Bargains & Freebies Discussion
All,

Each month we all receive junk mail via email & post and more often than not
we will wade through it to see if there are any competitions. I have
noticed recently that there are also some very good offers sometimes
included and wondered whether the group would want to share wealth and
benefit from this sort of information. I am not talking about a 10% saving
at Dixons when you spend 300 etc.

I am talking about real bargains like these.

1Gb USB 2.0 Flashdrive 45.77 Flashdrive about 100 off
Monty Python The Movies Box Set only 13.97

Rooms available for 10 per night..............

Travelodge Tennertastic is back with a fantastic offer especially for April
and May. We have over 30,000 rooms available for only 10 at many of our
hotels across the country. All you have to do to book your room is select a
hotel from the list below and follow the red booking diamond on the hotel
information page.
Remember that our prices are per room and not per person and you can book
this special 10 offer from midnight on Friday 15th April to midnight
Wednesday 20th April for stays from 17th April until 26th May 2005. But
hurry, with such a great offer rooms will sell out fast.

Travellodge

10.00 off with no min spend.
Free Sim cards etc.

I am more of a lurker on this group and feel that there is a strong sense of
community, however I do not want incinerating by posting such things
especially as the offers tend to be short term and regularly snapped up
quickly. In several instances lately the shops have found out they have
made an error in their pricing and they increase the charges due to a flood
of orders.

The title could contain Bargains & Freebies so those that they can be
filtered out if wanted.

Please let me know your thoughts, and if you are willing to share such info
on this group.

Thanks
Glen

There's a group specially for that sort of thing - there's no point
putting them all here too and diluting the purpose of the group.

True, but it is still the best place to post/read about Bargains and Freebies.
This NG is already one of the busiest I have come across, so there really
wouldn't be room for lots of additional OT posts especially since there are
already better to places to post them.

So my vote is to please not post about Bargains and Freebies here. Leave it as a
competitions only area.

Cheers

The surest way to reduce the amount of posts here would be to split the
group into two seperate newsgroups.

One for postcard comps and the other for WWW comps

As other posters have pointed out there are better places to post to for
bargains etc. but please don't split the comp newsgroup

I think ng should be split between those who like to send and receive
insults and those that don't.
and before anyone replies, I am only joking
