My mum must have been nearly 80 when this came out. Iirc the Sun were doing giveaways for tickets to see East is East so she got two 
tickets one for her and one for her "boyfriend" of similar age. When they got to the cinema the film was unavailable so they were 
told they could have their pick.  Mum being a fan of Nicole Kidman chose Eyes Wide shut.  Well from what I can gather mums eyes were 
quite firmly shut for most of the film and she couldnt bear to look at her companion becuase of her embarassment :-)

That title has to have been taken by "The End of the Affair"... one
whose end seemed to take forever and ever to come and had us nearly
nodding off...
