boink
I've just sent a message out to the usual suspects and a few potentially new
suspects, but if you want to come to a transatlantic boink at - possibly -
Caldbeck - very soon, speak now or forever hold your peace.

I'm hoping we can make it Sunday April 24th.

Sorry Edith - wish we could whisk you away from your verandah to join us,
but I can't see you managing it so soon after your last holiday!

sorry can't make it that weekend we're going to the hills to view
wildflowers, assuming there's any lefy that late in the season.

Ally
You could whisk me to hell and back at the moment, Ally and I wouldn't care.
I was in a 4 hour meeting yesterday just to hear that the verandah project
has been put on ice because it is too expensive-330,000 NOKs (rep on 49
verandahs out of 72,) for a communal electric meter that will save each flat
2000 NOKs a year in lesser electricity bills. My nerves have reached rock
bottom. I would sell if my verandahs were in tact. I can't do that until
they are. That means I have to dig up 40,000 NOKs to have my verandahs done
myself which is immpossible at the moment as my budjet is at it's lowest.
I'm really so depressed. Really this time. I fell asleep in tears last
night.Couldn't breath.

Oh, {{{{{{Edith}}}}}} poor lass. What can we do to help?

There was someone a while back who used a website to get people to send them
a dollar each for something they needed badly, and I believe people actually
did it. Couldn't we set up a website with PayPal facilities so that people
all over the world could send you money for the Verandah Fund, and then the
rest of us put in a wee bit of time trying to persuade people to visit the
site and contribute.

www.xe.com tells me that 40,000 kroner = GBP 3,348 or $6,311 in US money. I
think one pound or ten kroner would be a suitable minimum amount. All you'd
need would be something between 3,000 and 4,000 people giving you a pound
each.

I'm quite serious about this. I'll design the website if some others are
prepared to give me some wacky ideas to put on it, and come up with
publicity schemes. 3,000 people isn't much. Hell, it might get so popular
that you'd end up with enough cash left over to buy your Cumbrian cottage at
the end of it!

Yup, You you get the website set up, Ally. I'll contribute and do some
kind of raffle or something here. Do they have some kind of habitat for
humanity in Norway?

Ps. If you get enough for the Cumbrian cottage remember me, Edith!

Four quid won't do her any good. I say we put it toward another
