Edinburgh beer shops
Greetings

I'm off to Edinburgh for the first time this weekend, and wonder if anyone
has any reccomendations for sellers of interesting beer there? Vaguely
central area is probably most useful to me, but I might get chance to go
further afield.

thanks

pete

Re: Edinburgh beer shops
The excellent site
www.bottledbeer.co.uk
has a list of decent beer shops, and a quick search found several in
Scotland (though it seems not all are listed under the 'Scotland' tag,
and are instead under separate towns/authorities such as Tayside,
Glasgow, Moray, in the Beershops list) but I still couldn't see any in
Edinburgh.

A quick UK Google search for
<<Edinburgh "beer shop">>
comes up with a few possibles -

Oasts & Toasts beer shop, 107 Morrison Street, Edinburgh EH3 8BX.

Villeneuve Wines Edinburgh - Broughton Street.

& a CAMRA list of RAIB retailers includes
The Wine Basket Edinburgh (0131) 557 2530
good luck!
cheers,
MikeMcG.

This looks like a good bet - previously in the good beer guide, but
has changed hands.

Both reasonably close to the station, so I shall check these out also.
Ta for the pointers.
Report to follow next week!

Peckhams in Brunstfield do have a reasonable range.
Also try the Wine Basket at the bottom of Dundas St.... yes they do sell
beer... or should I say they did the last time I went in.
Then there is Peter Greens on Marchmont Road.
