Sorry for the blatant mispost. But I'm sure many of you will understand my
reasons...

This guy kindly sold one of my email addresses to a spammer. So I thought
I'd return
the favour!

I almost think there should be a newsgroup mirrored just about everywhere
for this exact purpose!

Again appologies for the mispost. I do normally post sensible things to
uk.diy!

Please don't. I'm sure you're steamed, but that's no reason to post
revenge stuff here. I get 500+ spams a day at my domain; how helpful
would it be if I posted the apparent source address for each one here?
Or even the addresses of those who've clearly passed on
transaction-unique addresses - who by now will've changed email address,
causing any automated 'revenge' posts just to tie up resources on the
backbone?

Besides which, I belive the newsgroup harvesters take header rather than
body content.

Good-oh! I found recently that harvesting from web-pages definitely does
go on still - when I updated www.zaba.com after 8? years of inactivity -
to describe, and distance myself from, the privacy-invading US operation
'www.zabasearch.com', the only 'straight' email address I had on there
was the fictional 'some-address-or-other' (with those hyphens), 'at' my
domain. Within a coupla days I started getting spam at that address...

I have found a bit of character code mangling for the mailto tag and the
@ sign in the html is enought to throw off most harvesters which seem to
just read the plain text (probably not worth their while rendering the
html just to scrape it).

My spamcop address has been harvested from this group - just got spam
from a motorcycle parts supplier (following the Swarfega thread?).
