If you use ebay and you want to know a few details of a car. go to sell, 
choose car and enter the reg number, it then comes up with some details 
about it, as good as the rac site at least.  the other good one is the dvla 
licence check site

Sounds like it might work on a similar principle to the system Unipart 
use to sell me completely the wrong bits for my car.  (c:
