Going by the shortage of posts yesterday, I'd say everyone was rather busy.
Maybe they were all busy celebrating somebody's birthday.

It might be relevant in the cases of Tania and Al, that it was Columbus
Day in the United States (no rest for the wicked myself) and the whole
of Canada was celebrating Thanksgiving Day. But what were all the

We have had a couple of gorgeous summer days in Rutland. The entire daylight
hours were spent tidying the garden. We have dug out several large flower
beds, weeded them, split the plants we want to keep and resited them. We
even cut the lawn yesterday. I think we go into this winter better prepared
than any autumn I can remember, thanks to the clement weather. Today's
weather is similar so I must get back to the digging.

4 hours? Some screw. No wonder your back hurts. I'm speechless. It must be a

It's Kai... as in K-A-I-.... Kia is 'juice' LOL... You'll get there. Tell
you what. Try her English name - "Emily" (although it should be "Dawn", but
she hated Dawn and became an Emily...). You can't go wrong with that!!!

If you have her name right - Kai Hsia - it means 'Dawn of the Rosy Clouds'
or 'Sunrise'. So far the poor lass has been a 'juicy idiot' and who knows
what else - LOL!!

Anyway, she says thanks so much for the card you sent. It's a little
treasure! And thanks to everyone else for their wishes and Jp for the lovely
eCard.

Best,
Kezzi and Kai Hsia

Wot's all this got to do with Happy Birthdays? Oh yeah, that Rex
was turning over in his bedding with Erica.

Is it possibly all just metaphors? Conked out? Dry spells?
Monthly Mows? What is really going on there in Long Island?

I'm touched that you can interpret my garden news reports as a cry for
help, Johnny.

Nice to know someone cares.

Wish I had an electic, plug-in machine, like I used to have, and like a
couple of ladies who live alone nearby, so I wouldn't need a bloke at all.

Rofl!!!!!!! No wonder you're grumpy. Good Autumn Cumbrian weather, hey? With
a bit of bad luck your ducks could migrate too.

Keep warm and dry ;)

I don't get why ladies who live alone use the battery powered
ones and the ladies who live with someone use the ones with
power cords.

At least you've made it is clear most ladies have one or the
other.

Imagine the weight of the battery! I'd be knackered by the time I was
finished. Getting it started is really a man's job. I just don't have
the strength since the tennis elbow.

I used to have a team of Mexicans every Saturday morning.

If the someone else is of the opposite gender then one would hope, in an
ideal world, they wouldn't need an electrically powered one at all.
However....

Well, neither would I have until I heard all this stuff about replacing your
bloke with a battery- or mains-powered gizmo, and enjoying whole teams of

That's a good point. And funnily enough, one was battery powered

I wore out the batteries then had to rely on the mains to
