Getting car towed (Crawley / Horsham area)?
Hi,

I need to get my car towed from my house to the garage to be repaired, I
can't work out what is wrong with it..

The garage is about 5 miles away and I live sort of between Crawley and
Horsham in West Sussex..

Anyone got any idea how much I should pay for this because I don't want
to get ripped off and have no idea what is a good price..

Also any suggestions of who I should call in the area??, Maybe you have
had experience with a company you can recommend..

Thanks..

Should be in the region of 60 +vat.
Will the garage not arrange a tow for you, they may do it for a discount or
free if you are having the work carried out there?

When I spoke to them they said they didn't do any towing or recovery and
didn't offer to use anyone else, guess they may have if I had asked but
I didn't..

Probably going to book it in later with them so will ask.. At least I
have some idea of what it should cost..

Is that really the going rate? I just recently got quoted
100 inc vat to get towed 40 miles when I got my local garage
to phone the firm they normally use. That would be an incredibly
big difference between trade rates and what they charge the public.

You could join the RAC and do it that way :-)

THat's because recovery from the motorway is a fixed fee set by some
Govt regulation or other.
