Planning to purchase a 2nd hand 5 door Automatic... which of the big
manufacturers would be a good starting point, or from the other end
which make should be avoided. 

Target price would be about 5K, (3 year old?)

I have a X reg Clio auto at the moment, and would be inclined to avoid
another Renault.
