Citroen zx heater resistor
You lot are so helpful I thought I'd ask another question.

I have removed this part (quite easy when you know how)
I can measure the 3 wirewound resistors contained therein
0.8R, 1.2R and 2.7R, there is also another componet which looks
like a large diode this measures open circuit both ways so if it is a diode
then its blown.

Does anybody know what this part is, I am intending to just replace with
some
thick copper wire 18swg or similar.

Thanks

Almost certainly a thermal fuse, which has blown to prevent overheating
resistors reducing your car to a smouldering heap! *DO NOT* replace with
anything other than the correct temperature value of fuse. Common reasons
for failure include the fan motor bearings starting to seize.

Thermal fuses are available from RS, Maplins et al, but you need to make
sure you get the right one.
