A friend travelled from the Midlands to London this morning with
Midland Mainline.  Apparently, there were several cancellations and
severe delays in the early morning due to a derailment - can anyone
provide more details?

National Rail reported that there was a broken down freight train at
Alfreton at about 5am - cleared about 9am.  Possible that the freight
train or a wagon derailed.
