Skoda Octavia - anything to look out for?
Its time to get a new (to me) car.
A Skoda Octavia estate seems to be the best option at the mo, and they
do seem reasonably priced (2.5k-3k for a 5 yo 1.9 diesel).
Is there any known failings on this model that I should look out for?
Is the 1.9 engine the one to go for, or is the petrol 2L better?
Thanks
Alan.

Cambelt change, engine is Volkswagen and quite tough, easily chippable for
plenty horsepower, 2l petrol alright but not as powerful/economical as
tweaked diesel :)

Knackered injectors on TDI's should be changed every 60-80k otherwise bore
wash and bore ovality will result, and knackered gearboxes- very well known
faults.
