Parking at Finchley Central   
I think there's usually room in the car park on a Saturday, failing
that there are some areas nearby which have only weekday restrictions
and if you get really stuck you can continue to East Finchley which has
another big car park.

I remember at the time thinking it would have been a lot quicker (and cost 
less than 2/6) to go by bus (2, 245 or 260).
