Parking at Finchley Central
I'm travelling (driving) to London to see a mate who lives in some stupid
zonal parking area and I cannot be bothered to get and pay for a visitor
permit. So I was thinking of parking at Finchley Central and tubeing it in.

How likely am I to get a space at 5pm on Saturday afternoon?

Snowball in Hell - Its a parking nightmare - on street is virtually all
resident only permit. Off street is signed up as "Private - park here
and get clamped"

I had to deliver a car there a month ago and found that the only way to
avoide a ticket was to sit in the car and argue with the wardens who
approached that as I hadn't left the car that I wasn't parked.

According to thetube.com, there are 275 spaces there, and its 2 to park on
Saturdays and free on sunday (which is good, I'm staying over). Does the
carpark get full quickly?

For Saturday parking you might need to take assorted football matches
into account which can bung up station parking some distance from
where the football grounds are located.

No, I'm not. Why are you asking (twice)?

Sorry.. a bit of confusion using Google. I was asking if there was
really an issue of football parking in Finchley?

It could be if (as is usual) the fans can't park near a football
ground and park somewhere else while they take the train to get to the
match. The same used to apply when football was played at Wembley and
parking at/near stations between about 3 to 10 miles away could be
near impossible. The definitive answer ought to be available from a
Finchleyite but if e.g. Spurs, Arsenal and a couple of other London
teams were all playing at home on the same day then I suspect Finchley
station would have a reasonable chance of getting a bit crowded by
non-local fans parking their wagons.
