Scandal in Peterborough.
Since my original posting on the subject of under-manning at the ticket /
enquiry office at Peterborough I have returned a couple of times for further
information / ticket purchase.

On neither occasion was there a queue. Maybe someone who matters in GNER
keeps reads the postings on this group.

If only it were that simple. Ticket office usage is a bit like train
usage; it varies according the day of the week, the time of the day
and also outside events. And, for that matter, the weather.

I'm sure that someone could probably do a good bit of research into
the whys and wherefores of ticket office usage patterns, but to then
convert that into a staffing policy (staffing levels being rather
inflexible) would be rather difficult.
