Help with Fridge Lamp
Hi,
My friend has one of these American style fridge / freezers (Whirlpool) and
the lamp has gone. They are quoting about 16 quid to replace it. It is a 40w
250v ES27 lamp made by Sylvania and has the word "Appliance" printed on it.
I want to know if there is something special about these as there are other
lamps with the same specs for about a quid. Is there anything stopping her
using one of these ?
Thanks in advance,
Graham.
P.S the lamp is at the bottom of this page :

Re: Help with Fridge Lamp
Its nothing to do with the cold, they are rough duty lamps to cope with
shock and vibration.

I hate ripoff trades people but to be honest 16 for a visit and
something done, even a three minute job isn't bad!
On the other hand you will get a load of bulbs for 16, and if you
have to change one a quarter........?
