Wind
The wind is getting up. Our neighbours have recently installed one of those
wind chime things in their back garden, and it's tinkling away like billyo.
I am so glad my bedroom is at the front. It'd keep me awake all night,
tinkle, tinkle, tinkle..... tinkle..........tinkle, tinkle, tinkle.....
tinkle..........tinkletinkletinkletink........ tinkle .............tinkle,
tinkle, tinkle..... tinkle..........tinktinktink...tinkettytinkettytink....
arrrgh...

That's no fun. Complain. The least they can do is stop the sound from 9pm to
9 am. If not, wee willie winkle should do a night round.

My neighbour has those bloody whirly duck things.. loads of em. Instead
of going quack quack, they go squeeeeek squeeeek. all the time!

He caught me the other week with oil can in hand climbing the fence...
Oh, I`ll do that says he.. I`m still waitin...squeeek squeeek

Schpeaking of wildlife, there seems to be a lot around this year. We've
had foxes in the street several times, I`ve never seen so many bats as
this season, can`t mow the lawn for froggies, and we even had a whopping
great owl perched on next doors silly weather vane one night. Cats don`t
know what to chase next.

Isn't your beloved any good with a catapult? It works on noisey cats.

Will you walk into my parlour
said the spider to the fly
It's the pretiest little parour
you ever did spy

He swallowed the dog
that ate the cat
He swallowed the cat
that ate the spider
That wiggled and giggled and tickled inside her-or summet

Would it work with a metal wind chime. Hopefully they or one of their
family sleeps at the back and will have been kept awake all night. Up
here it wouldn't be a problem a) The noise of the wind around the
windows would drown it out b) It would get blown away...

It won't be long now before the winter storms set in, Ally, - or you could
just mention it at "The Red House."

Yeah I'm just waiting for the proper winter winds to come along, and then
the chime will be no more. It's not really a problem as nobody sleeps at the
back (my office is in the back bedroom).

Our other neighbours have a flock of real ducks, and I don't mind the noise
they make (which can be loud!) at all. I like to hear real animals making
their normal sort of sounds. It's these unnecessary noises that irk, isn't
it?

Yeah, we've had a lot of bats - this is the first year I've noticed them
hunting around our house - and toads. We always get huge numbers of birds
here. No foxes though - too many people in the village would be out there
"taking them out" I fear, if they did appear. I know several locals who
revel in the "tradional sport" of hare- and rabbit- murder with dogs. It's
amazing how you can still find real live rabbits in the fields, despite
their predations.

Yeah, we've seen quite a few bats, mostly older ones.
