B&Q aircon finally clearing out
As if by magic mere hours after Mr sponix replies to my posting asking
when the DIY sheds reduce prices of out of season gear, the nearby BnQ
was still sitting on a pile of aircon gear with the original prices in
the largest font size known to marketing man, but with new teeny weeny
scrawly Manager Price stickers concealed on the box corners telling a
far better story.
10000 BTU mobile job with a GBP299 screaming banner was going for a
microdot whisper-it 113.32 price. Mine all mine.
It's no wonder these places are not coining it in. Prices far too high
to begin with and reductions as good as concealed.
HP13 store BTW. These are very localised. The normal one I hit in W3
has them hidden in a far corner of the gardening section.

Ouch. That has got to be the one I paid 120 for with no box, no manual,
no duct pipe, no remote control and (only found this out at thome) no
fittings for the pipe where you drain the water.
I'm hop;ing I can get a duct pipe and some way to drain the water, I don't
really need a remote control and hopefully can figure it out without the
manual.
It heats as well.

Thanks. What I now realise is that I've bought a B&Q product and the night
manager didn't tell me how to get a replacement ducting hose, etc. I can
return it but I'd rather get the missing bits. Any suggestions anyone?
Thanks

Why not return it and buy the cheaper intact model?

Hi Doug, I'm just off to buy one of these having tracked one down to
the third store I rung. If you're struggling with the manual I'll send
you a copy of mine.
Let me know, you can e-mail me your details if you're interested, but
let me know on this thread first as I don't routinely check this e-mail
addy.

That would be great. If it's the Airforce 10000 BTU one that heats as
well, that is.
But the price on the tills for it is 148, or was last night.
Thanks

Ok, thanks anyway. I've written to B&Q Customer services asking for help.
Is there anything I should know about how it works?
I'm hoping that duct hose attachments are standard -- in any case I need
another one for an old aircon I have already.
