Washing Machine repair
I have a Servis Caress 900 washer dryer which is making a loud screeching
noise on the spin cycle. I`m guessing this is likely to be the bearings of
some sort since the machine is approx 7 years old and gets loaded quite
heavily on most washes.
How easy is it to make a repair of this kind of thing? and assuming it is
the bearings is it a servicable part or a sealed unit?
I assume it also isn't something that could be sorted out with a tub of
grease or a squirt of WD40 !?

it is very common for the drain pump to screech on a sevis machine.

Re: Washing Machine repair
Check one of the online domestic appliance spares retailers to see if
you can get bearings - I would imagine they should be common and not
part of a sealed unit.

If it is the drum bearings then grease or WD40 will not be sufficient.

If it is the drum bearings then there will be a lot of wobble on the
inner drum.
You can determine if it is the drain pump or not easily as the pump and
the drum generally run at different times. If it screeches when the
drum is not spinning...

I've never done a Servis but I am now an expert with Zanussi and if it
is like Zanussi, it is not a job for your basic DIY'er.
