Hi

A couple of friends of mine are flying to Pisa for their honeymoon on 
Tuesday and have just discovered they can't rent a car in Italy with any 
of the major rental companies without giving a credit card in the name 
of the main driver at point of delivery.

Unfortunately neither of them has one (I know - we've had that 
conversation already!)...

Does anyone know of a place near (as in near enough to get a taxi to!) 
Pisa airport which will rent a car with cash deposit? Or any other 
bright idea, of course!

They fly out tomorrow :(

Sorry for the OT post ... in a way it's helping finding a bargain 
because otherwise he'll be spending a fortune (either by wasting the 
flights and driving their own car to Italy or by paying for someone else 
to fly out to rent the car!!)

Erm, are they safe to be on their own abroad?  If they are clueless enough  
to realise that a creditcard is required as security on a car rental, not  
just in Italy, but worldwide, then I doubt they are.  They do know they  
take Euros in Italy...

As for their problem.  I would be very suprised to find anyone rent them a  
car without the deposit security that a creditcard provides..  Hope they  
like walking...
