Siderodromophilia
I came across the term "Siderodromophilia" recently and, not knowing
what it meant, did a Google search (it took me several attempts to get
the spelling right!).
I'm not going to comment on the results, except to say I'm stunned
that some medical experts have discovered this condition (?) and
created a word to describe it!!

All I can say is "Oh my god"
Who's sadder, those who suffer from it or those who gave it a name??!!

It's just a compound Greek term:
Sidero = iron
dromos = course, road, route, track, way
You can also have 'siderodromophobia', the fear of trains.
Of course, what we really need is someone to create a word to describe
the morbid fear of ascii art. :)

One of the French terms for a railway enthusiast is 'ferrovipath', which
certainly sounds as though it is describing a disease...( The normal French
form for an enthusiast is ******phile, as in oenophile or bibliophile)

"arousal from riding in trains"
I quite like trains, but not that much :-o
Mind you it would be very difficult get anything from riding in a Class
142 dmu (last time I travelled from Manchester Piccadilly to Chester)
except a very sore arse :-(
(142s are 4 wheel dmus that give a ride worse than the top of a double
decker bus).

I came across the word 'sartistificucious' many years ago, but never did
find out what it meant.

Being a snide little arsehole as usual, I see. I don't have a fear of
it, but I object to stupid and repetitious allegations of being a
troll.
IIRC, it was something started by, or popularised by, Ross 'Arsehole'
Hamilton = another reason to regret that the halfwitted fucker wasn't
killed.

It's Greek pinching from French: it's a literal translation of 'chemin de
fer'. French was the second official language of Greece in the early 20th
century. Another example is the slightly archaic word 'aerolimenas' meaning
literally air-port.
