Travelcards valid on HEX today
Just stumled across this which may be of use to some people either
today (Sorry a bit late) or next month. TFL website states that because
of engineering work the Piccadilly line is closed Sat and Sun 3/4
September, 15/16 & 22/23 October. During these closures the following
tickets are valid:
LU Zone 1-6 Travelcards.
LU Zone 1-6 One Day Travelcards
Freedom Passes
Children travel free with a valid tube ticket if accompanied by an
Adult. Under 5s free.
Oyster Zone 1-6 Travelcards.
Good oppurtunity to bash the HEX units and track for bargain b ucket
prices.

Heathrow Express for which premium fares with no railcard discounts is
the general rule - Hence the sudden interest
If you are not aware FGWL started an all stations service called
Heathrow Connect in the June timetable change
To travel from Hayes & Harlington to Heathrow I understand is 6 with no
railcard discounts
Heathrow Connect only runs to Heathrow 123 due to pathing constraints
I understand that once the branch to Heathrow 5 is built
HEX trains will divert to here leaving Heathrow Connect services to
serve Heathrow 4

Heathrow Connect is also included in this "offer"!
Cheers to Richard for the tip-off. :-)

It's a railway group, so a lot of railway acronyms and abbreviaions are
used. CRS 3-letter (oops! Computer Reservation System) codes are
commonly used, and they generally are pretty obvious:
EUS - EUSton
KGX - KinG's Cross(X)
LDS - Leeds
MAN - MANchester piccadilly
Some are a little less obvious
CBW - CanterBury West
MCO - ManChester Oxford road
But don't take them all for gospel, some are plain wrong.
BNS is BarNeS in reality, but it's taken here as Birmingham New Street
which is really BHM on CRS.
Cheers,
Chris Pemberton, Pendleton, Salford, Lancs.

Yes, but how many people refer to Barnes in here? ;) I use BHM or BNS
for New Street depending on who I'm talking to..Similarly, MAN or MIA
for Manchester Airport, etc...
Still, Arriva Trains Northern (as was) managed a great SNAFU once. When
adding their Hope Valley trains to CRS, they managed to have them doing
St Pancras (STP) to Sheffield (SHF) in 42 minutes, instead of Stockport
(SPT) to Sheffield ;)
Cheers,
Barry

Thanks. Are these all listed anywhere?
At the risk of being trite for a brief moment, if Heathrow EXpress is HEX,
then Gatwick EXpress must be GEX and Stansted EXpress must be ... ?

Googling for CRS +Station name is effective as well.
If you want printed lists then they are starting to appear in pocket
timetables - Wessex's include a full list of stations they serve.
