And yet when you see some of the TV footage you wonder why not. It may
seem a bit unfair but prosecuting a selected few might have a
significant impact on their friends, once the impact of having to
declare a conviction for drunkeness on their insurance renewals, job
apps etc sinks in.
This seems to be yet another issue that has the DM foaming at the
mouth. Surely a true Conservative would argue that it is no business
of government to tell pubs when they can or cannot open, but if they
run their businesses in a way that impacts on the public good they
will be held responsible and brought to account.
