card reader recommendations
I need a card reader for my Olympus camera and went into PCWorld yesterday
to find they cost around 20. I then came home and looked on ebay where
they start at around 99p! Are there good and bad makes and does anyone have
any recommendations please?
Thanks.

ebuyer.co.uk were doing an 18in1 reader - 5.99 inc free p&p a while back.

Seems to work very well.

I use the ebuyer own brand one - they are 8 inc VAT and shipping.
Takes lots of card formats.

Quickfind code 54461

Is the eBay 99p the auction start price? If so, the winning bid might
well be for far more.

I wouldn't worry too much about brand with these...they will all work more
or less the same. This is exactly the type of thing Ebay is good for. Just
make sure, like a previous poster noted, that the reader is USB2.

Yup, I have one of these they are fine, the two important things being it is
a USB 2.0 device if your computer can support USB 2 and that it takes your
card.

Might also be worth having a look at something like code 88018 if it fills
other uses but this is double the price.

Tesco do a good one (single slot, fits one card - not all types of card) for
around a tenner. I have one for my SD cards and one for my Compact Flash
cards, and can't fault them.

I got the 5 inc postage one that goes in a floppy bay and gives me a
USB 2 socket on the front of the PC too.
