Without rear suspension, definetely.
You'll probably find it hard to find one without front suspension.

Doesn't really matter at this level.

By 'high street', and the nature of this newsgroup, I am presuming he is
looking for a fairly cheap cycle. My definition of that 'level' was sub
£400, possibly even sub £100 items such as those available from
supermarkets, but it's hard to tell seeing as the OP has decided to be
mystically cryptic...
Either of those is a category in which it really does not matter too
much what kind of shocks they are, as they will be shit on a stick.
I'm sure there will be plenty of people (such as your good self) that
disagree tho, if only just for the sake of it.

The best time to buy is during the Jan sales, I bought my 1500 Kona for
850 as they wanted to make room for the new years models.

Just noticed Halfords (*spit*) are advertising a bike for £100 that is
supposedly down from £200, has an aluminium frame and more importantly
it doesn't have any suspension front or rear. Looks ok for the price.

There's plenty of advice available in uk.rec.cycling - you can either read
what's been posted previously via Google groups, or you could be today's
poater of "the question" in the group itself.
