Any PSP bargains to be had in HK?
Mate is going to Kowloon, Hong Kong next week - are there any PSP bargains
out there?

I'll be getting the console here in UK but wanted extra games and movies
(especially kids films) - can these be found cheap in HK and where can I get
them from?

Thanks

Golden Computer Arcade is usually good for computer stuff, also the Wanchai
Computer Centre
is very good, but i usually find if you go into a mall and there are several
say computer shops selling gear they all try and out do each other. Problem
is with Hk the last 2 trips there, there seems to be more and more dodgy
fakes for sale like camcorders from JVC and the like and theyre not made by
Jvc.

It may pay to get one with Firmware Rev 1.5 (No Higher)

Also screens on the ones from Hong Kong are supposed to be better.

I thought that was just a rumour?
I'm sure there was a long post in here several months back debating this
issue.
I haven't time or I would Google for it.

Aren't movies region coded?

Also, a mate of mine has a Jap PSP & at first I was impressed, but
after playing Ridge Racers & Rally X for a while I started to notice a
lot of screen blur.

The screen does blur as its not the best of screens however ridge racer does
also use a blur effect for the feel of speed...

Well have you actually tried it?

Just because we are both region 2 doesn't mean sony hasnt developed its
region coding in the same
way as games are region coded.

I thought I read they weren't yet but they may be in the future,
probably as the things I've seen for release are eolder mopvies, when
they get to new releases they might code them like they do DVD's

I'm only after PSP games, in English - how much would they cost from HK? I'm
hoping its around the 15 mark as there are lots of HK sellers charging 15
+ 10 p&p. So have we decided where is the best place to get them from?

Thanks again

I understand that you can take a region specific umd and use it in all
PSP's that support that region.

IALTB that games are not region coded on the PSP.....yet.

Movies are region coded NOW, some games are also coming through region
coded, although Sony recommend that game producers do not region code the
games, some are doing it, and the PSP has the capability of blocking out
of region games.
