Not in the accident, but certainly the service is disrupted in the
aftermath.

Would they have survived if they'd plunged 30 feet onto another road?

"The accident happened at about 0145 BST on Saturday."

Perhaps they'd have taken the train if trains actually ran when people
needed them. The first train on a saturday is 06:34 from Liskeard. The
last train arrives back at Liskeard at 21:11 on the Friday night.

And the report I saw said the tracks were damaged.

Was the train going where they were, then?

"Two people have died in much the same way that they would have had it
been a road after the car they were travelling in plunged 30 feet
onto a railway line.

The line, which is laid in 110lb flat-bottom rail secured with Pandrol
C clips to Dowmac concrete sleepers, and is ballasted with 2" granite,
is undamaged.

This accident wasn't the fault of the railway in any shape or form, and
no trains of any type, including the one in the carefully researched
and specially taken photograph at the top of the page (though we would
like to point out that the unit pictured has had its yellow warning
panel touched up since the picture was taken) were involved.

And please remember - God kills a fluffy bunny every time someone has
bad thoughts about the railway. Think of the bunnies - think nicely of
the railway."

They were probably distracted by Harold, the most dangerous type of sheep.

Ahh, introducing new evidence. The train to Looe is running fine this
morning, was the first train delayed on Saturday? I must admit for a
branch line a 6:34 start on a Saturday is amazing.

Probably not, yet another problem with trains.
