I'd much rather buy a Dell for the same price

But such a PC is good enough for the internet and for writing letters.
I think it will easily sell.

You can use a typewriter for writing letters and just how much music
and other programs do you think can be stored on a 40Gb hard
drive ?? . I have two machines sat in the other room doing nothing
each with a 120 Gb sata drive 1Gb of DDR 400 memory and AMD
32000 processors which I have retired recently and moved up to
AMD 64 bit 35000 and Microsoft XP 64bit with 300Gb hard drive.
The Asda one is just not worth house room has I have already stated .

I know I know. This is not the kind of PC either of us would use. But I'll
tell you what: There is a huge market out there for a simple computer,
just to go onto the internet and write out letters. There are many people
who don't want to spend the dosh just to take the first dip in the water.

Cutting edge processors you have there - must be at least 10 times
faster than anyone else has in the world.

Makes my Athlon XP 2000+ look slow.

I'd rather have a AMD Sempron XP2500+ than an awful celeron any day of the

I saw an eSys laptop in Staples yesterday for 100 extra. If I remember
correctly, the specs are much the same (I am not in the market for a
computer so I did not quite take enough special note of details).

Asda's no quibble instant refund is probably a better warranty than

Who gives a fuck, so it's not suitable for *your* use, it's not aimed at
*your* use.

It's more than suitable for a hell of a lot of people's use tho, and
most of those people will be very happy buy electrical goods from ASDA.

I'm sure people considering this PC will be so interested to hear that,

Well, exactly.

You could build a PC from ebauyer parts or buy a complete one from
Asda.

The Asda one may be slightly more expensive but comes with a
guarantee.

The home built one comes with no guarantee and takes valuable time to
build.

Which represents better value for money?

But you don't/won't need Vista for the internet and for writing letters.

Some people still use Windows 98 which is adequate for there purposes, you
don't HAVE to upgrade to the latest OS.

This is a whole different saga. Building a PC is not necessarily about
value for money. It's about getting closer to the innards so that you
can maintain and upgrade the PC and not have to worry about something
going south. (You can usually fix it)

Next year. But, Vista (the new edition of Windows) will not cut off all
those new legacy gears currently running today with one fell swoop.

That's what they said about XP. Which turned out to be more secure,
and easier to use than Win9x.
