Samsung 50 Laser - Refilling
Anyone know how easy it is to refill this cartridge with toner (as opposed
to buying bloody extortionate new ones)?

And a price / supplier for the toner?

Thanks!

If you tell us all who you have already contacted and what the prices are it
will prevent people posting information you have already gone and looked for
yourself first.
It also prevents duplicate posts and speeds things up a bit.
Someone might have a better price or want to name a different supplier to
the ones you are going to list.

I'm sorry but you've got the wrong end of the stick - I have not got any
prices as yet for the Samsung, but from previous experience with other
lasers I know the standard manufacturers cartridges are usually extremely
expensive.

I have a Panasonic KX-P6300 which has been great value over the last 5 or 6
years, with cheap & easily refillable toner, but the processor unit now
needs replaced & at 120 or so it would be crazy to do this when I can get a
brand new laser for 50!

Well done! I think Frooty missed the point you made. But then, this is so
characteristic...

It depends which model, the original super popular one here (ML-1510) was
very easy, toner v cheap & readily available, refilled via a bung on the end.
Samsung then superseded this with the (ML-1520) which (allegedly) uses
a different toner that is not so readily available and the cart may be more
difficult to fill (I don't have one). Some people are apparently trying 1510
toner in the 1520 carts and they haven't exploded yet so it may be ok. Get
googlin on this group for samsung +1510 or +1520 and you'll get the full
info.

I used this about 2 months ago and did not notice any difference
between it and the origional toner that came in it.

To fill you had to remove a few screws, lift off half the toner
catridge and fill into a large area, put the cover back on and shake
to spread the toner out evenly.

No problems at all, very happy with the results and price.

A bit more than removing a bunk tho' so not for everyone, I wonder if one of
those heated core-cutter type hole makers and replacement bungs would
work for these.
