Hello there...
I am looking for a good inkjet/deskjet or laser printer which will do
upwards to A4 & A3 plus good photo prints? price around 250...I like
HP and Epsom but would consider others.

I've got an Epson stylus photo 1290 that does alright. It does decent photos
and it'll do A3. It's probably not up to professional photolab standards but
I'm pleased with it, especially as cartridges are very cheap (not Epson of
course). It won't do cds though. It cost 299. They may be cheaper now.
