i posted a question yesterday about my renault espace fan.

it would appear that the resitistor board is the likely problem

however where is this board located ?

i was told up under bonnet by side of the vents under the padding

however this turned out to be the internal / external motor for air routing.

any other ideas please.

Don't know the Laguna, but on my Saab it's on the back of a plug that goes
into the blower housing, such that the resistor is cooled directly by the
blower. I expect that many cars are like that. The resistor can't take the
wattage unless cooled by the blower, but nevertheless sometimes fails in
hot weather or at intermediate blower settings.
