Pet Insurance
Does anyone know of any good cheap pet insurance companies. I'm wanting
to insure my cat and theres a little problem with the fact that he's got
a heart murmor so i'm a little worried that any insurance I get the
companies will instantly blame that for anything he has and i'll have
insured him for nothing.
plus does anyone know if the sonic collars for cats actually work and if
so where to get a cheap one
Thanks people

Like human medical policies you will be asked to state pre-existing
conditions. They could well blame anything chronic on the heart problem.

The chances are that any insurer will either boost the premiums to take into
account your moggy's problem, or exclude just about all pay-outs on the back
of it.
I would stick 10-15 a month in an account, and hope the moggy is ok for a
couple of years. Any payout over 300 is, in my opinion, obscene and would
keep a lot of people fed and clothed in the third world for a reasonable
amount of time.
I lovbe my dog, but I have a sense of perspective. And I just know I'm going
to be shot down in flames over this one.

Shot down or not, you're absolutely right. A new cat* is only about a
tenner. As an added bonus it will be smaller, newer, cuter and fluffier
and - for a while at least - far less grumpy :)

Maybe, but personally I don't *know* the people in the 3rd world, nor do I
feel any sense of responsibility for them. I love my pets and am responsible
for them and would happily spend (and have done) that and more on them. I
spend my money as I choose.
Since you feel so strongly about the welfare of people in the 3rd world,
why don't you live in a tent, give up smoking, drinking, holidays, never buy
any new clothes, and donate all your surplus salary thus saved, to 3rd world
families?

Not shot down, just amazed at your arrogance in telling people how they
should spend thier own money.

Re: Pet Insurance
A good company for pet insurance is Marks and Spencer, has a very
friendly attitude. Can pay a little extra (about 40p more) and than
you have no excess on claims. For our dogs (cheaper for your cat) we
pay about £8 a month and with that, we get £7,000 per year (each of
them) which if say the condition last for two years and cost £7,000 a
year, they will pay that £7,000 each year. (ie it is a life policy.)
They can do two things, one way is keep the premium near the same level
as if the cat is 100% healthy but exclude the heart problem. The other
option is charge a small extra fee and will cover the heart problem.
Not saying they will do either. They pay out very quickly and can even
pay direct. If you want to know more about it, if you email me offlist
I can give you more.
Oh one thing which is better than petplan is they also pay for
"preventative" treatment. And will also pay for "alternative" treatment.

Things are that bad for you ?
You have my sympathies.
Have a word with Steve, if you're local to him he might be able to put a
good word in for you on the shelf stacking front.

Things are great here. No need to stack shelves or anything else. I earn
good money from my poultry. Sold 300 of poultry this afternoon.
You carry on signing on and being bitter at the world. I will do what I do
well and am respected and known for.
I'm glad I'm not you.

So why did you say you sign on then ?

Wow, £300 worth. That much, eh.
This afternoon my staff produced about £7k worth of material (which is
*all* produced on demand for orders, not stock). Not much in the great
scheme of things, but it was a slow day and I'm happy with it.
> You carry on signing on and being bitter at the world.
Erm, I wouldn't even know *how* to sign on :)
> I will do what I do well and am respected and known for.
It's ironic that you post pertaining to comments on animal welfare, and
then you unmask yourself as someone who kills animals for a living.
> I'm glad I'm not you.
And I most certainly am glad I am not a chicken killer.
