About a dozen pictures in my copy of 'The Grantham Rail Crash of 1906'
by Harold Bonnett.
Published by Bygone Grantham 1978, 41pp, ISBN 0 906338 05 0

Apart from the suicide pack theroy between the driver and fireman
which I have doubts over, it would be interesting to know if any
records exist of delays to northbound trains at Peterborough that day.
It could have been that the crew somehow thought they were taking over
an earlier delayed train that did not stop at Grantham.

No reference to any delays in Bonnett's book.

"...he [Driver Fleetwood] was well acquainted with the main line, and
had worked the same train on the previous two nights...."

"The twelve-vehicle Edinburgh express left Peterborough punctually at
10.20pm - next stop Grantham...."
