I was in Sheffield the other day, first time I've been for about a year so I 
notice there's been quite a few changes

A new open plan Midland Mainline ticket office has been opened on the site 
of the old taxi rank, when did this occur?. What plans have they got for the 
old office?

The rest of the concourse is currently closed off, although when it reopens 
looks like it is going to be massive and 3 times bigger than the old 
concourse. They are very apologetic that there is currently no newsagent on 
the station, when did it close?

Platform 1 is now the last platform to be resurfaced, seems to have taken 
about a year to do all 8!

At the moment the departure board still consists of a single black and white 
monitor dating from god knows when, although I expect that will be changed 
at some point.

They've still got the same station announcer which is good as its the 
clearest voice in the business, they've even got him to record a special 
speech apologising for the 'number of construction projects currently going 
on at Sheffield station'!
