SWT website redesigned
SWT have redesigned their website. There don't seem to be any major
improvements compared to the previous one.
http://www.southwesttrains.co.uk/SWTrains
It could be worthwhile visiting it, as there's a draw to win one of
250 prizes of 4 train tickets (valid on any service in S.E. England)

not that's it off use to me of course , but it seems as if the job
opportunities section of it has been vastly improved with a section on what
training each job requires and so forth.

Only just looked at two pages of it, due to a recent incident. Both
contain wrongness. Firstly, the penalty fares page, like their
posters, refers to penalty fares as fines and indicates that they are
to be issued to fare-evaders. This has got to be illegal, but since no
one seems to care I'll dismount for the time being ...
The other page was on travelcard validity, where it states that
travelcards are valid on buses in the zones covered, when in fact they
are valid on buses in all zones.
This is probably just poor wording, but my checking of their site was
prompted by one of their staff insisting on crossing through my one-day
zones 1 - 6 travelcard and telling me that it could only be used for
one return journey (I was travelling from zone 4 to zone 5). There was
no mistake about it being a travelcard. He told me it could be used
all day on the Underground.
So SWT may need to look more at the content of the information they are
putting out, rather than the design. It seems that they are printing
on posters, posting on the Web and stating via their staff a lot of
incorrect things which may result in them getting extra money unfairly
out of the travelling public.
