Fighting on the Docks!
It has come to my attention that......
Collision between 0F58 and a road lorry at Regent Road, Liverpool docks.
Who threw the "first" punch? Unresolved as yet!

Surely Regent Road the "Dock Road" at this point is an internal
facility within the Freeport area

Frankie...
I don't think so. At least, not the full length of it.
I once had a picture published which showed an old lady
with a shopping bag waiting at a bus stop in Regent Road,
right beside the point where the rails go across the road.
Immediately behind the bus stop sign --- within touching
distance --- was the leading cab of a pair of Class 20s
bound for Fidler's Ferry with a loaded MGR train.
The Warrington driver was leaning out to talk to the old
lady and my photo caption was:
"Sorry luv, this one doesn't go to the Pier Head"!

The Freeport "compound" was extended a few years ago, south almost as
far as Miller's Bridge, and west as far as Derby Road/Rimrose Road, and
the dock road rail crossing is now within the compound.

Thanks Andrew...
The occasion I referred to was indeed a dozen years ago,
at least.

It is nowknown that 66 504 was involved. It must have been a "Fright" Liner.
0Z99 rescue left Crewe at 1415.
