Anyone recommend a good reasonably priced provider of prints of digital 
photos ?

Intro offers ?

I have about 30 I want to get printed.

Dont mind uploading to an online service, burning to CD and posting or 
taking the memory card to boots/tesco or wherever.

Walk into Asda with them on a CD or some other media.  Pop media into 
machine, choose photos and size and hit OK. Give ticket to staff and pick up 
next day.  50 6x4 for 5, 50 7x5 for 7.  9x6 @25p each.  10x8 starts 
getting expensive at 2.28 each.

Paper is Fuji Crystal Archive, and prints are excellent.

Above is Asda superstore in Havant, but would expect Asda to be consistent 
throughout their stores.

Jessops or Boots will also do a similar service at fairly similar prices, 
but haven't used them.

Note, sometimes it's worth looking at printing 50 pics, even if it means 20 
doubles, as the bulk price for 50 can be cheaper than 30 singles.

I had great problems with Boots recognising my jpgs on a cd I took into the 
shop
They could read the disc fine and see the pics but not print them.
Didn't seem to matter on what machine the cd was written.
The helpful (but clueless assistant) said they had been having a lot of 
problems with the machine
Eventually they found if they converted my cd to photodisc format it would 
work.
Shame because the price was good and the quality stunning.

(This was about six months ago so they may have fixed their machines)

One other gripe "why-oh-why" do they not offer USB pen drives as an option 
to bring images on.

Just choose News Of The World offer in a drop down box at checkout.

Ordered mine two days ago and they're not here yet so I can't comment on the 
quality yet, but for 1.50 it's worth a risk.

Excellent quality, quick service (it's always been next day for me), and
cheap.  If you send me your email, I can refer you, you get 10 free
prints (6"x4"), and I get some free prints as well. 

6"x4" prints are as cheap as 7p-15p each depending on how many you buy
(and you can buy them as pre-pay to make them cheaper). 

As you can tell, I'm a big fan ...

What drop down box? I only get an empty text input field.

Do you have to install their software to get the drop down box?

Does anyone know the news of the world code?

question:

I now have quite a few images taken with digital
cameras, all of them carefully cropped and composed 
with a 4:3 aspect ratio, for viewing on a computer 
screen.  Do I really have to re-edit the whole 
collection in order to get them printed out with
the aspect ratio 3:2, which was appropriate for 
35mm film camera images?  Is it not possible to get 
digital images printed out at their original aspect 
ratio?  Surely there's a market for this.  But none 
of the replies so far has mentioned the possibility.

I use Bonusprint online, which I find excellent.
Regarding your query, Bonusprint have a variet of shapes you can get printed 
(not like circles, triangles etc hehe) ie 4:3 digital, or traditional.
You already understand the difference, but if you want to get a photo 
printed from your digital camera in a traditional size, its real easy using 
the bonusprint software....simply click the button next to the pic and your 
photo comes up in an enlarged window, with a white shaded box over it that 
represents the traditional aspect ratio.....you simply slide it around to 
select what you want cropping to make it fit. Its really quick, and it only 
send the details to bonusprint when you upload, it doesnt make any permanant 
changes to your images on your HD. Very quick and easy.

Sorry, it's on the shipping and payment information page, where it says send 
by mail. If you click on the box there's the option to use NOTW1408. Choose 
this option and then put NOTW1408 in the promotion box too.

I cannot recommend Bonusprint enough, as they have always delivered my 
prints within 2 days, sometimes next day if ordered early enough. If I 
remember correctly then they have just lowered their price again and have 
always been the cheapest I have seen, as well as the quality of the photos 
being superb.

There's 6 x4.5 " option at Photobox on Gloss or Matt.

On check out, you can further fit to longest side (ie portrait or 
landscape formats) if you have others with the wrong aspect ratios. Dead 
easy.

I find having a border on enlargements handy if your going to frame 
them.
