Foster Yeoman class 08 shunter fleet
Down the years, Foster Yeoman has operated a number of class 08's. I
know of the following:
FY no. ?? - ex BR D3002 (was this 22?)
FY no. 33 - ex-BR 08 032
*
FY no. 55 - ex-BR 08 650
FY no. 66 - ex-BR 08 ???
* FY no. 44 isn't an 08, but an American thingy.
Can anyone fill in the gaps, or say if there have been others?

The original three ex-BR class 08s sold to Foster Yeoman for use at Merehead
were:
D3002 - named 'Dulcote' by FY and now preserved at Plym Valley Railway.
D3003 - numbered 22 and named 'Merehead'. This was stripped and displayed at
Wandstrow (near Merehead) as a children's climbing frame until it was
scrapped.
08032 - numbered 33 and named 'Mendip', which I think is still in use at
Merehead.
All were repainted in Yeoman blue livery.
Later FY purchased the US switcher and numbered it 44 and rather
sacrilegiously named it 'Western Yeoman II'.
In more recent times Hanson have bought/leased/hired a lot more class 08s,
but I'm afraid I'm not too up to date with what they've got. They also seem
to switch the locos around their different sites nowadays - not just in the
Mendips, but at Grain, for instance.
I've personally seen 08571/652 on 7 July 2001 at Whatley Quarry, but I've
seen others reported there. Both of these bore their TOPs numbers when I saw
them.
Hope this helps and others can fill the gaps.
