I just looked now at Travelex and it is quoting 0.8031 to 1. So 160 Cyprus
Pounds at Travelex = GBP 199.22. Not a lot of difference between them and
M&S. Post Office are quoting 0.7928, so 160 CY Pounds there currently is
201.81

Normally easy and a better deal to change when you arrive at the destination

Um, you need to think before you post!
If it's 0.8031 Cyrpus pounds to the then it can't possibly equate to 160
Cyprus pounds equalling 199.22. Basic CSE level maths tells you the
equation = 160x0.8031??
I stand by my original post.

160/0.8031 = 199.22799915 !

Likely cost of withdrawing Cyp160 from an ATM in Cyprus today using a
Nationwide Flex Card: 160 x 1.198 = 191.68.

Do you know how ironic that statement is.

Now try multiplying *£199* by 0.8031

That's fine.
But everyone else is falling over, laughing :)

Except that you have multiplied rather than divided. I take it you don't go
abroad very often?

The rest of us obviously did GCEs rather than CSEs.

Yes it does - walking 30 yards saves a few pounds (2 pints !) - We
occasionally get people here asking for best 'high street' prices,
especially as they get last minute holidays.
Just passing on my experiences.

As at yesterday, travelex were offering a to $ rate of 1.7445 and M&S
1.743.
If we are looking at exchanging 1,000 dollars (we I will be doing next
month for a trip at the end of september) travelex are only offering an
extra $1.5 over M&S.
It's horses for courses, but based on current rates I personally would
rather have the peace of mind of having my cash in my hand before I get to
the airport.
Regards,
Matt.
