Currys were advertising this digital camcorder on tv last night saying "200 
off"

Is this a genuine bargain or just 200 off an artificially inflated price ?

Would I be better going elsewhere with my 300 ?

It's probably a ploy like all DSG "offers" to get you into the store 
wanting to buy a new gadget, only to find the one advertised on the 
telly or the newspaper has sold out.  Again, probably because each store 
only had 1 each or something, but, seeing as how you're there, how about 
this other nice model that costs more?

You'll also find on the ads the item is "Exclusive to Currys/Dixons/PC 
World"  Again, so you can't find one somewhere else for them to price 
match it, as they'll only price match exact models.

Cynical?  Yes.  Hate DSG?  Why yes!

Looks like I was right not to jump straight in for that camera.

Comet have the next model up on their website for 50 cheaper :)
