Digital Camera 9.99
Lloyds Pharmacy are currently selling the Halina DC181-B digital
camera for 9.99.

Now, I know this is only VGA quality and I know that it will lose
stored images after two weeks when the battery goes flat. However, it
does work as a USB webcam, which maybe of interest to some people.

Also, as it comes complete with batteries it is worth buying one and
bunging it in the car glovebox so that you can photograph the
scene/damage should you have a car accident.

Digital photo's can be fiddled with though, you're much better having a
cheap disposable camera in your glove box as they're a lot more
difficult to be fiddled with.

Is it powered by USB, i.e. I don't need any battery for it to work?

It looks that way - read the quickstart manual - it recommends removing
the batteries.

AFAIK it is powered via the USB when used in webcam mode.

If you went and had the photos printed then they'd never know how you
took them would they?

Wouldn't it be good if they decided to apply this rule to scamera partnerships?

i got something similar not long back. it had no flash and crappy
resolution. Those two probs i could live with for the price and the
uses I put it to, but the fact that 1)it went through batteries in
record time and 2) you lose all the pictures when changing the
batteries was a real pain in the arse. Avoid!
