VAX V006  40 odd pounds plus P&P from eBay.
Just bought one for my wife ;o) and she reckons it is the dogs B's. However
it does sound as if a Jumbo jet is taking off in your house.
It replaces a Dyson which was consistently clogging up / breaking down.

During a recent visit to my local repair shop I noticed a dozen or so Dysons 
and just a few other makes. I asked him why so many Dysons were broken and 
his reply was 1)They outsell other makes, 20 years ago the shop was full of 
Hoovers. 2)People do not wash  or replace the filter which puts a strain on 
the motor until it burns out.
For a cheap vac try Tesco, they have a Tesco value vac thats around 25

I went to Tesco today and could not see a vacuum cleaner for anything 
like  25.Do you have to order?  Is it an upright or cylinder?
