Spur or end of a radial???
Hi,

I want to add a new socket in a bedroom and have gone to the nearest
socket to add a spur, but the socket only has 1 cable to it. How can
I tell whether this is already a spur or the end of a radial without
lifting floorboards etc?

Thanks

Well, do you have any radial socket circuits from your
consumer unit in the first place? If so, trip them off
and see if that socket goes dead.

Re: Spur or end of a radial???
2 other radial circuit clues - either it should be fed by fairly heavy 4mm
cable or it should be on a fuse rated at only 20 amps.

Re: Spur or end of a radial???
Thanks for the help with this. Where my house has been extended twice
I have a number of spurs off the ring circuit.

Thanks again.
