DVD a cheap supplier - any suggestions
Here I stand the last person on earth to buy a DVD player, my only
mitigation was that I was waiting to buy a new T.V before getting the DVD
player.

I need to find the cheapest supplier either via the internet or U.K (London)
high street retailer......um............no pirated stuff.

Can anyone suggest a good supplier with an extensive list of titles. ASDA*
and LIDLS to be excluded, I won't be seen dead in there.

Cheers

Lynne

* only because the last time I was in an ASDA the sight of Margarine beating
seven bells out of the children (over-active twins Nivea and Astral) at the
checkout wasn't entertainment for me.

www.thaidvd.biz are incredibly cheap - may not be legal in UK though?
Cheapest UKish suppliers tend to be play.com, blahdvd.com or cdwow.com. All
actually supply from outside UK. Prices tend to vary - one can be cheapest
for one title but not for another...

High Street, I am told Tesco is cheap nowadays but, being as it gets even
more chavs in it than Asda and Lidl, I haven't set foot in one for a long
time:-))

Interesting the thaidvd site. Prices are, if anything a touch cheaper than I
pay in Thailand. Their P&P at $1 per disc is less than I pay for postage of
discs. They are honest about postage, sometimes 4 days to the UK, sometimes
30 days! However note that all the DVD's I get in Thailand are region -
forget which but not the UK region so you need to be able to make your DVD
player region free.

From my own experience most people in Thailand are OK to trade with, but
there are rouges. At those prices it is worth a go!

Hmmm From the site

Deluxe titles have a ot of advantages compared to our standard titles:
Improved video quality - Mainly noticeable on larger screens.
More audio tracks and subtitle languages - Most Deluxe titles also have
audio tracks and subtitles in other languages, such as French or Spanish.
More special features (depends on title) - If you like extra features
such as behind the scenes featurettes, deleted scenes, and so on, these
are a great choice.
Better compatibility - Reduced chance of defects, and able to play on
most DVD players without a glitch.
Improved covers - Printed on a frosted finish heavyweight paper, the
covers are usually nicer than the standard ones.
Sure, Deluxe titles may be a little more expensive, but the are a great
choice for collectors who want the extra quality.

So they are pirated copies then otherwise they wouldn't be plugging
Deluxe Titles as better quality and with the extras!

I suspect that they are about as legal as downloading your music files from
allofmp3.com. Never used thaidvd myself - heard about them from someone who
has and says they are very reliable.
