Wanted: HP Compaq NC4000 or NC4010 Laptop
Has anyone come across this laptop for sale brand new?

It's no longer being produced but I think there are stocks around

I'm mostly interested in it's low weight of 1.6kg and small size. And
believe it also has a very good battery life.

Cheapest I've seen it for is around £600 brand new with 3 year warranty
from HP but with an included bundle of external CD Writer, etc and lots
of stuff I don't need or want.

I guess you are refering to te bundle on offer from Morgan - 3590 plus
shipping.

That is the best price I have seen this laptop for and it is a great
little laptop, well worth the money.

however if you use eBay and know what youa re doing you can get better
deals.

i got my nc4010 for 500 with orginal CD burner and installed WiFiand
Bluetooth, and it still had 0 months warranty left which is
transferable. Best thing to do i if you see'one that is interesting on
eBay, email the seller and ask them to email you the serial number and
model number that is on the bottom of the laptop, then run a warranty
cjeck on HP's website and it will tell you exactly how much warraty is
left to the day.

You can save on the new price by buying a few month old one and HP will
till honour the warranty no questions asked. i know because this is my
third HP laptop so I know it works.

BTW IBM also have transferrable warranties, toshiba do to some extend
but avoid at all costs Dell because they will not under any circumstances.

HTH
