Insurance for codger?
Hi.
I am 50 y.o. and I haven't owned a car in more than 10 years.
 I have 0 years no claims .

Any insurers specialising in divvies like me?

Thanks.

If you haven't owned a car because you have been using company cars some
insurers will give you the discount if you produce a letter from your fleet
people outlining your claim history.

Tesco gave my wife the benefit of 5 years NCD.

With the cost of ownership nowadays, I doubt many would think you're a
divvie.

A 2.0 Carlton - not a girls car by any means, but I like a woman who drives
a big meaty motor!

Cheers!

Does that still count if I've bought a 1993 Rover 416 Auto? :)

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember "Arthur"
saying something like:

<checks DoB>

Old gits like us are the very people the robbing bastard insurance
companies are falling over themselves to get hold of. They think we're
less of a risk (hah!).
Suddenly, I find myself paying a reasonable, affordable premium instead
of being held over a barrel and rogered senseless every year.

The lack of NCB will not be a huge problem compared to a younger driver,
iwt.

Saying that, I have a quote of 455 for my newly acquired S70 T5. IMHO,
that's quite reasonable for a 26 year old, given the combination of driver
age and car performance.

That's not bad at all; not a civil servant or something similar, are
you?

No. My secrets are estimated mileage of less than 5000 (which is perfectly
true) and a girlfriend/co-habitant of over 30 on the policy. The insurer
also recognises the fact that I have an IAM certificate, but I've no idea
if that makes any difference or not.
